📷A window to the past through photography

👇Down below you can see the photography of an ancient site located in the region of Cusco, called Moray. This site is a natural depression on the ground, it means a geological formation caused mostly by natural agents such as water (floods, marine environments), fire (volcanic activity), tectonic plates and so on over the calcium carbonate. Upon this geography, ancient societies of Perú took advantage of this natural environment to grow up food due is micro climates properties, that's why they built terracing not only to adapt plants by growing up food, but to avoid erosion.

📷When we capture photographs of landscapes with our cameras, we might be in front of an environment that take us millions of years to the past from now.

⛏The original geological formation of Moray took place some millions years ago, (according to fossil records) most probably during the Cretaceous period, it means during the Mesozoic era (144 millions years ago approximately) and gave its final reshape this karst formation during the Pleistocene epoch (1.6 millions years ago). According to some geologists, the name of these interesting geological formations is “Doline” an earlier stage and almost circular shape of this natural formation whose evolution ended up into a less circular shape called Uvala, although the latter is a term in disuse and other authors argue theories of cyclic karst evolution as outdated or even as untenable.

🗿We know many cultures in the past were in harmony with the nature, thus they became ecology lovers and actually they got inspiration from nature as it always took place through the history of humankind and science. The circumference shapes of the Sun and the Moon do not escape to this argument. We can see several ancient temples and storage for food with such an form, for sure the symbolic ideas had to be in congruence with the religion and spiritual believes; however there exist functional purposes that justify specific shapes designed upon these ancient constructions. One of these functions had to be with efficiency of growing food because the properties of the circumference are diverse, one of them allows the sound, that's to say the Eco-resonance to work better on the ground rather than in other terrains without the aforementioned conditions and factors.
